I believe every child has a voice they can express through art. Art allows their voice to be heard, to show their understanding, and to demonstrate their knowledge. Art provides a platform for students when they are unable to show what they are learning through traditional methods. It doesn't matter what level or ability a child has. Art allows them to show what they know and how amazing they are. Art is a way to escape and forget or reflect. Through expression, children can be free. In the beginning, I show them the tools, teach them the foundation and they take it from there. Prompting their creativity and imagination allows them to build problem solving and critical thinking skills. They become visual learners experiencing the world with new perspectives. Our children deserve a place to be self-expressive without limits or judgement. I believe every student can learn through art even if they don't see it for themselves.
